What does it mean to be human in 2024? We live in extraordinary times when science fiction seems to be turning into science fact before our eyes. Speculations about the possibilities of enhancing humanity through technology have been a staple of novels and films for decades, but for the first time in history this is becoming a realistic possibility. Low-tech transhumanism, refusing to accept our bodies in the way we received them, is now commonplace.
